Welcome to Mushin Budo Association's website

Ju Jitsu (unarmed combat) is an ideal martial art for both men and women, boys and girls. Benefits include effective defence techniques, improved fitness and co-ordination, personal awareness, increased confidence, and there is a competitive sport for those who want to take part.

One of the main reasons for learning Ju Jitsu is to make yourself or your child a harder target. A hard target is less vulnerable to attack, not only physical, but verbal and psychological.

Techniques you will encounter in Mushin Budo Ju Jitsu include kicks, punches, throws, takedowns, locks, strangles, pressure points, submissions, defences against weapons and escapes from grabs. You will also learn how to be thrown safely. The Ju Jitsu syllabus is modified for children and does not include joint locks, strangles or submissions for under 16s.

The Association's martial art instructors are experienced in many martial arts, not just Ju Jitsu, and have professional indemnity insurance and those teaching children have undergone background checks.

We can also countersign applications for Disclosure of Criminal Records. This means that if you are a volunteer instructor of martial arts you can obtain your Disclosure through us at minimum cost. Find out more ...
